Emraan Hashmi siger, at en bolig samfund i Pali Hill, hjem for mange Bollywood stjerner, blokeret hans køb.
Men en erklæring udstedt af boliger samfund siger, at det har ikke truffet nogen beslutning om at give ham lov til at købe en lejlighed i sin lejlighed bygningen.
Hr. Hashmi siger, at han har indgivet en klage til mindretal Kommissionen i Maharashtra.

Hans onkel, den film-maker Mahesh Bhatt, sagde, at det var vigtigt at fremhæve spørgsmålet fordi forskelsbehandling af boliger samfund mod muslimer var udbredt.
Sidste år en anden Bollywood skuespiller, Zulfi Sayed, hævdede også, at han blev nægtet en lejlighed i en forstad til Mumbai, fordi han var muslim.
Mumbai 's forstæder er punkteret med flere etagers boligblokke – som hver især ledes af en bolig samfundet. De har en stor magt, herunder retten til at acceptere eller afvise en lejer eller en køber.
